New Delhi:
At least 10 trains operating in northern India will remain cancelled for over a month starting December 28 for dense fog cover that envelopes the region during the winter, the northern railways announced today.
The trains will stop operation between December 28 and 30 and will return to service between February 15 and 17.
"This year northern railway has planned to cancel 10 express trains/passenger mails to avoid passenger inconvenience during the (foggy) period," said a statement.
"The foggy conditions pose a great challenge to the railways, especially in the northern region of the country, in terms of operations and safety," added the statement.
