With the mercury dipping across the country as the winter progresses, the Supreme Court today asked state governments to ensure that not a single person dies due to the cold.
Chief Secretaries of states have been directed to monitor the supervision of night shelters.
"You should not allow a single person to die this winter," the Supreme Court stated.
The apex court was hearing a petition on providing night shelters across the country.
