New Delhi:
The IPL controversy was raked up again in the Lok Sabha today with JD(U) chief Sharad Yadav seeking a categorical statement from the government on the telephonic discussions between the former IPL chief and a Union Minister whose phone was reportedly tapped.
Without taking any names, Yadav said, "The phones of four political leaders were tapped. I am referring to the fourth one .... the conversation between the IPL chief and a Minister of this government."
Raising the matter during Zero Hour, he said the Government should come out with a clear and categorical statement on the matter.
Yadav was supported by members from the opposition benches, including the BJP and CPM.
Reports have said Agriculture Minister Sharad Pawar's phone was tapped at the height of the IPL controversy including his conversation with the then IPL chief Lalit Modi.
Government had later clarified that it had "not authorised" any phone tapping of political leaders.
