Washington:
With just a month to go for President Barack Obama's India visit, National Security Advisor Shiv Shankar Menon, who is in Washington, has said the Indian Government is in talks with US companies that have expressed concerns about Nuclear Liability Act.
Most American companies feel the law puts a big burden on suppliers. They are confused as to what kind of liability will it mean for the suppliers.
The Prime Minister has already made it clear that the law can't be changed. However, Menon says the Government is speaking to lawyers to deal with the issue.
" We are working our ways through the issue because our lawyers have told us consistently that this Act does not impose any additional obligations upon the suppliers, in which case, there should be legal ways of dealing with this."
