Srinagar: In an oblique criticism of the arrest of a Jadavpur University professor in West Bengal, Jammu and Kashmir Chief Minister Omar Abdullah has said his government will run out of prison space if he arrests everyone making cartoon and fun of him.
"Do not worry. If I arrested everyone who made fun of me or a cartoon of me I (would) run out of prison space in a flash," Omar wrote on microblogging site Twitter last night. He was replying to a tweet from a user on the controversy over a cartoon in West Bengal due to which Professor Ambikesh Mahapatra, a professor of Chemistry at Jadavpur University, and his neighbour have been arrested.
They allegedly circulated the cartoon on the internet showing Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee, Railway Minister Mukul Roy and his predecessor Dinesh Trivedi in poor light.
