On Camera, After Killing Ex-Wife, Daughter, Man Shoots Himself In The Head

A man shot his young daughter and former wife before turning the gun on himself at a posh area in Patna today. Shocking videos of the attack -- which took place on a road in broad daylight and was over within seconds -- are circulating on the social media. All three died on the spot.

In the video footage of the incident, the man, carrying a backpack and a pistol, is seen stopping three women and arguing with them.
Then suddenly, he points the gun at the head of the girl and pulls the trigger. As she drops to the ground, he shoots the older woman in the head and then shoots himself.

The attacker has been identified as Rajeev Kumar. His former wife was Shashiprabha, who had married again. The girl he shot was Sanskriti, daughter from his first marriage. The third woman, who can be seen collapsing on the road in shock, is Shashiprabha's mother.

The attack took place when the women were on way back from a wedding in Begusarai.

Initially, Rajeev Kumar had married Shashiprabha's sister, the police said. After she died of natural causes, he married Shashiprabha. When the relationship between then soured, Shashiprabha had divorced him and Sanskriti decided to live with her stepmother.

Later, Shashiprabha married a man who works with the Air Force. The family lived in a rented apartment in Patna's high profile Police Colony area, home to top retired police officials.

The police said Rajeev Kumar threatened the woman and his daughter, demanding that they come back to him. But they had refused.

The police said the man appears mentally unstable.

"We got the information at around 12:40 pm. This is a very serious incident so all top police officers in the area reached the spot. We recorded the statements of several witnesses who witnessed the murder. We are also scanning CCTV footage," a police officer said.
