Three men holding a struggling man and smearing what appeared to be ink on his face, several record the proceedings on cellphones and video cameras. That was how Shiv Sena dealt with a teacher who allegedly asked a student for sexual favours at a college in Nagpur. The unabashed group later claimed they had got an SOS from the woman's friends, and took matters into their hands because the college failed to take action. The accused lecturer was later handed over to the police, they added.
The video is now doing the rounds of the social media.
The man in question was Amit Ganvir, who had caught the girl copying during the exam at Nagpur's Dharampeth Polytechnic College, the police said. In response, he not only seized identity card, hall ticket and mobile phone, but also misbehaved with her.
In her complaint, the student alleged that the teacher used vulgar language. He only stopped when she told him she was recording the exchange. Later, he demanded sexual favours for returning her belongings, she alleged.
The lecturer has lodged a counter complaint against the girl, claiming she has framed him after he caught her cheating in the semester exam.
