Parts of Uttar Pradesh received light to moderate showers while a minor girl was killed and 12
persons were injured in thunderstorm which hit Bhadohi district of the state.
Handia got 5 cm rain, Karchana 4 cm; Allahabad, Chunar, Salon, Kunda, Purwa, Varanasi 3 cm each; Phoolpur, Baberu, Mirzapur 2 cm each and Barra, Mariahu, Nighasan, Churk, Jalaun
1 cm each in the past 24 hours, according to Meteorological Department.
The Met has forecast that rain or thundershowers may occur at isolated places over east Uttar Pradesh or UP and at a few places in western parts on June 24.
Meanwhile, a 13-year-old girl was killed and 12 persons were injured due to thunderstorm in Bhulaipur village of Bhadohi district yesterday.
Additional District Magistrate Daya Shanker Pandey said that a financial assistance of Rs 1.5 lakh has been given to the next of the kin of the girl and injured were being treated at a government hospital.
