Muzaffarnagar:
One more accused of Muzaffarnagar gangrape case was today arrested and sent to 14 days judicial custody.
The accused, Pushpender, who was absconding in connection with a gangrape of a riot victim at Phugana village in the district last year, was today arrested, a police officer said here.
A local court sent him to judicial custody up to November 15.
According to prosecution, six cases in Phugana and one case in Lank village were registered during riots against 27 people of which one case of Phugana was closed by SIT.
While 25 people in six cases were found involved, 19 accused of gangrape cases have been arrested and remaining six were absconding.
Court has initiated attachment proceedings against six accused in this connection.
Meanwhile four accused were also arrested in connection with loot and burning during riots at Phugana village in the district today.
All four accused Arvind, Vikram, Suresh and Subodh have been sent for judicial custody by the Chief Judicial Magistrate here.
