Jajpur:
Five suspected Maoists including three women were killed near the Tamka mining area in Orissa's Jajpur district, following an exchange of fire with security forces, around midnight on Saturday.
Police sources claimed they had recovered all five bodies, one SLR, one 303 rifle and five pistols from the spot.
The incident took place nearly 30 kms away from Kalinganagar industrial area where the anti-displacement tribal body BBJM is observing Martyrs' Day today in honour of the 13 tribal protestors who were killed in police firing in Kalinga Nagar on the January 2, 2006.
Armed police have been deployed in large numbers in and around Kalinga Nagar in view of the public rally on the occasion of the fifth anniversary of the Kalinga Nagar firing incident.
