Bhubhaneswar:
Sixteen Maoists have surrendered to the police in the Gajapati district in Orissa.
The SP of the district, Sanjeev Arora, has said that these people were disillusioned with the party and decided to surrender to take advantage of the rehab package offered by the police.
Eight of them belonged to the armed cadre of the banned outfit while the other 8 were part of the pro-Maoist militia that operates in the villages.
