The Americans don't listen to Barrack Obama. Despite telling his fellow countrymen not to travel to the troubled hotspots of India, specifically Hyderabad, Obama would be astounded to know 19 of them have landed not just in Hyderabad but inside Osmania University, the ground zero of the Telangana agitation.
"Osmania University is the safest place to be because of all the security. Things so far have been very, very calm. My main concern was whether we can accomplish what we came to do. Frankly, my worry was not so much about safety," said Barry Michie, Kansas State University, who is a part of the faculty on a 4 day visit to finalise collaborations between the 2 universities.
T.Vijay Kumar, Jt director, Osmania University Centre for International Programmes backed up the decision of Kansas State University's faculty. "Not once did they have apprehensions about safety. Nearly 90 years of academic history cannot be disturbed by a few days of disturbance," he said.
