Bahraich: At least 175 people fell ill, allegedly due to food poisoning, after having "iftar" meals at a madrassa at Harwatand village in Uttar Pradesh's Bahraich district, police said today.
After the meal at the madrassa yesterday, several people complained of uneasiness and started vomiting, police said.
They were rushed to hospital from where many of them were discharged later after treatment. No one was in serious condition, police said.
Police said they suspected food poisoning, and have collected food samples for testing.
