Gaya, Bihar:
32 trucks on the busy Grand Trunk Road in Bihar's Gaya district have been set on fire, reportedly by Naxals following a two-day bandh call in the region.
The trucks were set on fire post midnight as the bandh came into effect. The GT Road is a busy national highway that connects Kolkata to Delhi and beyond, and passes through Bihar
The bandh call has been given by the CPI (Maoist) to protest against the killing, by security forces, of a woman cadre about a week ago in an encounter. At least six other people, alleged to be top Naxal commanders in the area, were arrested in that operation.
Documents recovered from these top Naxal operatives suggested attempts to manufacture a "microlight helicopter" using motorcycle engines and other sophisticated equipment, say sources in the Central Reserve Police Force or CRPF.
