New Delhi: The body of Nitin Garg, the Indian student killed in Australia last week, was brought to Delhi on Saturday.

Nitin was brutally stabbed to death opposite the Hungry Jack's restaurant where he worked part-time. His funeral will be held in his hometown of Jagraon, near Ludhiana on Sunday.

Australian detectives are working on some new leads in the stabbing death of the Indian student and are keen to talk a person who jumped into a taxi near the murder spot that night.

Acting Premier Rob Hulls and Police Deputy Commissioner Kieran Walshe met Indian High Commissioner Sujatha Singh and Consul General Anita Nayar to discuss the issue.

Meanwhile, there was yet another attack on an Indian in Australia - this time a 29-year-old man, Jaspreet Singh, was set on fire at Essendon in Melbourne on Saturday.

He was allegedly attacked by four men when he was parking his car. Jaspreet is said to be in a serious but stable condition at the Royal Melbourne hospital with 20 per cent burn injuries.
