Pak nationals flee from Gujarat police custody

Dausa (Rajasthan): Two Pakistani nationals, facing charges of passport forgery, escaped from custody of Gujarat police while being taken from Rajkot to Lucknow in the wee hours on Wednesday but one of them was later arrested in the district.

Adeel Anjum and Abdul Shakur hoodwinked the escorting police team when the vehicle was stopped in Manpur area in Rajasthan's Dausa district, 100 kms from state capital Jaipur, a senior official said.

The two, arrested for allegedly forging passports, were being brought from Rajkot by a Gujarat police team comprising a sub-inspector and six constables.

Later Shakur was nabbed at Peepalkhera in Dausa district, Superintendent of Police, Dausa, Nishar Ahmed.

District police has launched a combing operation in the area to nab the second Pakistani, said.
