Barmer:
Four days after a mysterious balloon shaped object was shot down by an Indian Air Force or IAF fighter aircraft, a bunch of small gas balloons landed in Barmer district of Rajasthan on Saturday, a senior police officer said.
"The bunch of colourful balloons with a banner having - PakTurk, ISRA Campus, Annual Sports Day -- written on it most likely came from Pakistan side and landed in Ramsar area," Superintendent of Police, Barmer, Anil Paris Deshmukh told PTI.
He said that the balloons have been seized and the matter is being investigated.
"The Air Force is on alert and monitoring the situation closely," the Defence Spokesperson Lieutenant Colonel Manish Ojha said.
On January 26, a mysterious balloon-shaped object was shot down by a Sukhoi-30 fighter aircraft in Barmer district, bordering Pakistan, after the IAF radar detected it.
IAF officials said the object was flying in from the western sector (implying Pakistani side) and was shot down.
