Lahore: A Pakistani anti-terrorism court conducting the trial of seven Mumbai terror attack accused, including mastermind Zaki-ur-Rehman Lakhvi, today adjourned the hearing till next week as two witnesses summoned did not turn up.
A court official said no proceedings could be held today as the witnesses did not turn up.
The judge of the Anti-Terrorism Court Islamabad who held the proceedings at Adiala Jail in Rawalpindi then adjourned the hearing till November 25.
In the previous hearing, a banker testified that a transaction involving huge amount was made from the account of one of the Mumbai attack accused - Shahid Jamil. He also presented documentary proof in the court. The prosecution had established that Jamil used the money for terror activity.
LeT operations Lakhvi, Abdul Wajid, Mazhar Iqbal, Sadiq, Shahid, Jamil Ahmed and Younas Anjum were arrested in 2009 for their alleged role in the attacks that left 166 people dead and over 300 injured.
Lakhvi granted bail last December and was subsequently released from the Adiala Jail on April 10 after the Lahore High Court set aside the government's order to detain him under a public security act. He is currently out on bail and living at an undisclosed location.
