Islamabad: Pakistan today lodged a protest with India over alleged cross border firing that killed an elderly man, the Pakistan Foreign Office said.

The 70-year-old civilian was killed yesterday in Rawlakot sector in shelling by Indian troops across the Line of Control (LoC), the Pakistan Foreign Office said in a statement.

Pakistan has lodged a protest with India through diplomatic channels over the casualty, "caused due to indiscriminate firing by the Indian forces", it said.

"Condemning the incident, Pakistan called upon India to restrain its security forces from firing on civilians, and stop the ceasefire violations across the LoC and the Working Boundary," the statement said.
