New Delhi: Pakistan Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif last night called up Premier Narendra Modi to offer condolences over the Kerala fire tragedy.

PM Sharif called up Prime Minister Modi to express grief over the temple fire tragedy in Kerala, a PMO official said. Expressing gratitude, PM Modi offered his condolences to Pakistani PM Sharif over the loss of lives and property due to yesterday's earthquake in Pakistan.

Earlier yesterday, Pakistan had extended "deep condolences" over the pre-dawn disaster that has claimed 106 lives so far.

"The people and the government of Pakistan express their deep condolences on the loss of precious lives, resulting from a fire in the temple," Pakistan's Foreign Office said.

"Our sympathies are with the bereaved families. We wish early recovery to all injured people," it said.
