Pakistan Troops Fire at Indian Posts Along Line of Control in Poonch

Srinagar: After a gap on one day, Pakistani troops fired at Indian posts on Friday night along the Line of Control (LoC) in Poonch district of Jammu and Kashmir.

According to the Army, no casualties were reported.

On Wednesday, there was firing from across the border along the LoC in Saujian sector of Poonch in which Pakistani troops targeted forward areas in Kirni and Shahpur belts. Senior Superintendent of Police, Poonch, Shamsher Hussain said there was no injury to anyone in the cross-border firing.

The International Border and the LoC in Jammu region have witnessed heavy firing and mortar shelling by Pakistani troops since October 1 which has left eight people dead and over 94 injured, including 13 security men.

Besides nearly 30,000 people have fled from their border homes leaving 113 hamlets deserted along the International Border.
