Jammu:
A day after an Indian army soldier was killed along the Line of Control in unprovoked firing by Pakistani troops, yet another incident of ceasefire violation has been reported from the Krishna Ghati and Bhimber Gali sectors in Jammu and Kashmir.
According to reports, Pakistani troops opened fire on Indian posts a little after 10 this morning using small arms and mortars following which the Indian side retaliated in equal measure. Intermittent exchange of fire is still believed to be on at these places. No injuries or loss of life has however been reported today.
This is the fourth incident of ceasefire violation in the last 48 hours.
Yesterday, a soldier was killed as Pakistani troops shelled an Indian post in Hamirpur area of Mendhar sector. He was hit by a mortar splinter.
Over the past two months, there have been more than 150 incidents of ceasefire violations by Pakistan making this one of the most violent phases since the 2003 agreement between India and Pakistan.
