Pakistani troops opened unprovoked firing in four different sectors along the Line of Control (LoC) in Jammu and Kashmir on Sunday night, prompting the Indian army to retaliate. The exchange of fire ended this morning.
The firing began around 9.30 pm in Krishnagati, Mandi, Balakote, and Palanwala sectors. While Krishnagati and Mandi sectors fall in Poonch, Balakote and Pallanwala are in Rajouri and Jammu respectively.
Indian forces took positions and retaliated effectively resulting in exchange of firing.
The Pakistani forces used small arms and automatic weapons.
On Saturday night, Pakistan Rangers had opened fire on and resorted to shelling on three posts along the International Border in Jammu's Akhnoor sector.
