Jammu: Pakistan Rangers violated the bilateral ceasefire on the international border in Samba district of Jammu and Kashmir today, police said.
"Pakistan Rangers fired six to seven rounds of small arms today (Monday) evening targeting the Border Security Force outposts of Challyarian and Khoada in Samba district. The BSF also retaliated with same calibre weapons," a police officer told IANS in Jammu.
The BSF and Pakistan Rangers had a casual contact meeting at Octroi border outpost in RS Pura sector of Jammu district on Sunday to uphold ceasefire on the international border, especially during this season when farmers of the two countries are busy harvesting crops.
