Chennai:
Home Minister P Chidambaram has said that if placing Hafiz Saeed under house arrest is Pakistan's way of acting against the terror mastermind without losing face, he has no objection, but the 26/11 charges must be investigated.
"Hafiz Saeed has been charged under sections unrelated to 26/11. If this is Pakistan's face-saving technique, I have no objection," the minister said.
Chidambaram said now that Saeed has been put under house arrest, Pakistan should investigate his role in the Mumbai attacks. "Pakistan is asking for more evidence; the evidence is in Pak soil," he added.
