New Delhi:
Pakistan Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif's special envoy Shaharyar Khan today met Prime Minister Manmohan Singh and delivered a letter conveying Islamabad's "sincere desire to move forward on improving relations with India".
Mr Sharif's letter contained warm expressions of goodwill and good wishes for the Indian prime minister and the government and the people of India, a Pakistan High Commission release said.
The release said the Indian prime minister warmly reciprocated the sentiments expressed in the letter.
Shaharyar Khan called on Manmohan Singh at his 7 Race Course Road residence and delivered the letter.
An Indian government spokesperson said that the special envoy also called on External Affairs Minister Salman Khurshid and National Security Adviser Shivshankar Menon.
He also met the prime minister's Special Envoy Satinder Lambah and Foreign Secretary Ranjan Mathai.
Shaharyar Khan, a former foreign secretary of Pakistan, is on a visit to India July 4-6.
