Pak's Sole Competitive Advantage Is Exporting Terror, Says PM Modi

At ASEAN (South East Asian Nations Summit), PM Modi blamed Pakistan for "exporting terror".

Vientiane: Prime Minister Narendra Modi today described Pakistan without naming it as a country "whose competitive advantage rests solely in producing and exporting terrorism."

Speaking at the regional ASEAN summit (Association of Southeast Asian Nations), the PM said that other countries must combine to "isolate and sanction" Pakistan.

Among the world leaders present for his speech were US President Barack Obama and Chinese premier Li Keqiang.

The PM's comments come just days after he told the G20 summit in China that Pakistan is "a single nation spreading agents of terror."

PM Modi has adopted a far more aggressive attitude towards  Pakistan since July, when violence was unleashed in the Kashmir Valley after the shooting of 22-year-old terrorist Burhan Wani. For over a month, huge mobs targeted security forces and police stations and military bases in anger. Pakistan declared Wani a martyr and the clashes, which killed over 70 people and injured over 10,000, a "new freedom movement" in Kashmir. Islamabad has pledged its support to the uprising.

Delhi has blamed Pakistan for funding, seeding and aggravating the violence. In his Independence Day speech, the PM referred to Balochistan, the large restive province that is fighting for independence from Pakistan, as a comeback to Islamabad's accusations of India rampantly abusing human rights to quell the dissent in Kashmir.
