Medininagar: Jharkhand Chief Minister Raghubar Das today said piped water from the Sone River would be provided to the people of Palamau district and ground work on it would start from February.
"Providing drinking water and irrigation to the people of Palamau is the government's priority," he said.
A detailed project report (DPR) would be ready by December 15 and other formalities would be completed in January before laying the foundation for the pipe-line in February, Mr Das said.
The Chief Minister was at a programme in Medininagar to lay online foundation and inauguration of road and bridge projects worth Rs 4,000 crore of the road construction department.
Online foundation was laid for 55 roads and 13 bridges while 25 roads and 45 bridges were inaugurated, an official release said.
He said DPR has been ready for construction of road worth Rs 213 crore while approving 23 km road and 55 km road on the NH-75 in neighbouring Lohardaga district.
He said DPR was also ready for bypass roads in Lohardaga, Garhwa, Hazaribagh and other districts.
