Patna:
Chief of Jan Adhikar Party (JAP) Rajesh Ranjan alias Pappu Yadav today criticised the RJD for serving showcause notice to its lawmaker Mohammad Taslimuddin for his statements against Chief Minister Nitish Kumar and invited the Araria Lok Sabha member to join his party.
"If Taslimuddin wishes to join JAP the party will welcome him," Mr Yadav, who was expelled from RJD, told reporters.
RJD had showcaused Mr Taslimuddin on May 22.
"Why action is being taken only against Taslimuddin and not against Raghuvansh Prasad Singh who has also been making statements against Nitish Kumar?" the Lok Sabha member from Madhepura asked.
He said it was an "old habit" of RJD chief Lalu Prasad and Chief Minister Nitish Kumar to make "scapegoat of leaders due to whose hardwork they came to power".
He described as "face saving", the shifting of jailed former RJD lawmaker Mohammad Shahabuddin to Bhagalpur from Siwan jail, in the wake of killing of journalist Rajdeo Ranjan.
"If he (Shahabuddin) is not involved in the journalist's murder than why Nitish Kumar government is harassing him?" he asked.
