Hitting out at the government over the farm laws in the Lok Sabha, Congress Leader Rahul Gandhi said the intent of the laws is to end the mandi system and the Essential Commodities Act.
The three farm laws allow industrialists to buy unlimited quantity of food grains and hoard them, Mr Gandhi alleged, adding the laws will destroy India's food security system and hurt rural economy.
"This is not a farmers' agitation but of the country, the farmers only showing the way. Government will have to repeal the laws," he said.
Earlier, Defence Minister Rajnath Singh informed the Rajya Sabha that through sustained talks, both Indian and China have reached an agreement for disengagement on the north and west bank of Pangong Lake.
"It has also been agreed to convene the next meeting of the Senior Commanders within 48 hours after the complete disengagement in the Pangong Lake area so as to address and resolve all other remaining issues," the Defence Minister said.
As per the agreement reached by the two sides, India and China will withdraw the forward deployment in a phased and coordinated manner, the Defence Minister said.
Lok Sabha has witnessed "record productivity" over the past two days following resolution of logjam over the demand by opposition parties for a separate discussion on the new farm laws that had caused repeated disruptions last week.
Here are the Highlights on Parliament Budget Session 2021:

" India will not be able to generate growth, generate jobs... all because the backbone of our nation will have been destroyed for the saying of 'Hum do, aur humaare do' and their benefit," he said.
