Budget Session Live Updates: Lok Sabha To Resume At 6PM, Rajya Sabha Adjourned Till Friday

Both Lok Sabha and Rajya Sabha proceedings were adjourned amid a stalemate in Parliament between the ruling BJP and the opposition parties.

Today marks the eighth day of proceedings of the second leg of the Budget Session.

New Delhi:

Rajya Sabha and Lok Sabha proceedings were adjourned on Thursday as the ruling BJP and opposition parties engaged in a verbal duel over Congress leader Rahul Gandhi's 'democracy in danger' remark in London and a demand for a probe into allegations against the Adani Group.

Lok Sabha proceedings were adjourned till 6 pm on Thursday and Rajya Sabha proceedings have been adjourned till Friday.

Today marks the eighth day of proceedings of the second leg of the Budget Session, which resumed on March 13.

Both Houses observed a moment of silence in honour of Shaheed Diwas, which marks the day revolutionaries Bhagat Singh, Rajguru and Sukhdev were hanged by the British.

Lok Sabha Passes Rs 45 Lakh Crore Budget 2023-24 Without Debate
Lok Sabha on Thursday approved the Union Budget envisaging an expenditure of around Rs 45 lakh crore for the fiscal year starting April 1 without any discussion.

Most of the second leg of the Budget Session has been washed out due to the protest by both sides and it was one of the rare occasions when the Budget was passed without any discussion.
