Union Budget 2022 Updatess: Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman will present the Union budget on Feb 1.

The government today tabled Economic Survey 2021-22 along with Statistical Appendix in the Rajya Sabha on day one of the Budget Session of Parliament. Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman tabled the Economic Survey 2021-22 and the Statistical Appendix a few minutes after the House assembled assemble at 2.30 pm.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi, while addressing the media ahead of the Budget session this morning, said Parliament sessions and debates get affected due to elections from time to time. He said he hopes that all political parties will debate with an open mind to take India forward on path of development.

The Budget Session of Parliament began with the address by President Ram Nath Kovind to both Houses in the Central Hall. He said, "My government believes that remembering the past and taking lessons from it is important for the country's future."

On February 1, Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman will present the Union budget for the year 2022-23.

The Budget Session of Parliament is scheduled to conclude on April 8 where the first part of the session will extend up to February 11, the Lok Sabha Secretariat said.

8 To 8.5% Growth For New Financial Year, Says Economic Survey
India will see an economic growth of 8 to 8.5 per cent for the coming fiscal year, down from 9.2 per cent growth estimated in the current year, the annual Economic Survey predicted a day before the Budget.

The survey, tabled in parliament by Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman, projected an 8-8.5 per cent growth rate for the economy in the 2022-23 fiscal year (April 2022 to March 2023). Read more.
