New Delhi: The Lok Sabha debate on the Liberhan Commission Report into the Babri Masjid demolition has been deferred after members of Parliament asked for copies of the report in Hindi.
Sources said Samajwadi Party chief Mulayam Singh Yadav requested the Speaker to take up the debate only after members had been given Hindi version of the report. It is learnt that the much-awaited discussion may now take place next week.
Meanwhile, as the 17th anniversary of the Babri Masjid demolition draws near, the local administration has asked for more security.
Though one platoon of the NSG guards has been deployed, the administration also wants Black Cat Commandos and Rapid Action Force in the city.
