Parliament Session Live: The budget session of Parliament is scheduled to end on August 12.

The proceedings in the Lok Sabha and the Rajya Sabha are set to resume today. Both Houses are likely to witness storm over Union Budget.

Yesterday, Former Union Minister Anurag Thakur had heated exchanges with Leader of the Opposition Rahul Gandhi and Samajwadi Party chief Akhilesh Yadav in Lok Sabha.

Anurag Thakur was speaking during the debate on Budget 2024 when he took a swipe at Mr Gandhi's statements on Mahabharata.

The budget session, which started on July 22, is scheduled to conclude on August 12.

Amit Shah addresses Rajya Sabha on Wayanad landslides

An early warning was given to Kerala govt on July 23 and again on July 24.
Earlier, several states, including Odisha and Gujarat used Centre's early warning system to limit damages.
Nine NDRF teams were sent in Kerala in advance; Kerala govt did not evacuate people in time.
India among four countries that can provide warning on natural disasters at least 7 days in advance.
The government has spent Rs. 2000 crores after 2014 for the early warning system.

Like, in Jharkhand, there is a culture of 'Jal, Jungle, Zameen'. Congress's parliamentary party pays homage to landslide victims, students killed in coaching centre

The Congress' parliamentary party on Wednesday observed a moment of silence to pay homage to those killed in the Wayanad landslides and in the flooding of the basement of a coaching centre in Delhi's Old Rajinder Nagar area.

Congress parliamentary party chairperson Sonia Gandhi, party president Mallikarjun Kharge, former party chief Rahul Gandhi, among others, attended the general body meeting of the Congress Parliamentary Party in the Central Hall of the Samvidhan Sadan.

The Congress MPs observed a moment of silence at the start of the meeting to pay tributes to those who lost their lives in the Wayanad landslides and the death of three UPSC aspirants here.

Monsoon Session Updates: Gaurav Gogoi moves adjournment motion in Lok Sabha, seeks discussion on Assam flood situation

Congress leader Gaurav Gogoi has moved an adjournment motion in the Lok Sabha to raise the issue of flood management in Assam and has also alleged "discriminatory" treatment by the Centre in the Union Budget.

The Congress deputy leader in the Lower House said in the notice on Wednesday that there have been inadequate allocations made for flood management in the Union Budget 2024 for Assam.

"Year after year, the state grapples with this crisis, and yet, the allocation for flood management remains grossly inadequate. The mere mention of Assam in the budget speech without a corresponding allocation of funds for flood management is a clear indication of the government's disregard for the plight of the state's people," he said in the notice.

Monsoon Session Updates: Government to introduce bill to replace British-era Aircraft Act in Lok Sabha today

Union Civil Aviation Minister Ram Mohan Naidu Kinjarapu will introduce the Bhartiya Vayuyan Vidheyak 2024, which aims to replace the Aircraft Act of 1934, in the Lok Sabha on Wednesday.

According to the list of business, the Lok Sabha will see the continuation of discussion on the Demands for Grants under the control of the Ministry of Railways for 2024-25.

Discussion on Demands for Grants under the control of the Ministry of Education for 2024-25 will also be taken up in the Lower House of Parliament.

The second report of the Business Advisory Committee will be presented in the Lok Sabha.
