New Delhi:
The first week of the Monsoon Session saw heated debates as the Opposition sought to corner government several issues including farmer suicides, atrocities on Dalits, cow vigilantism, and problems arising from the Goods and Services Tax or GST. The India-China standoff in Doklam was also discussed by the Parliamentarians, with External Affairs Minister Sushma Swaraj assuring the House that "all countries are with India" on the issue.

Lok Sabha adjourned till tomorrow
Six Congress MPs suspended for five sittings of Lok SabhaSix Congress lawmakers have been suspended for five days by Lok Sabha Speaker Sumitra Mahajan for disrupting house proceedings. The Congress MPs, who were trying to bring up the issue of mob lynchings in the lower house of Parliament, reportedly threw pieces of paper towards the Speaker's chair.
The six MPs who have been suspended are Adhir Ranjan Chowdhary , Ranjeeta Ranjan, Sushmita Deb, Gaurav Gogoi, K Suresh and M K Raghavan.
