Winter Session of Parliament will be held from December 5 to 20. A decision to this effect was taken at a meeting of the Cabinet Committee on Parliamentary Affairs (CCPA), chaired by Defence Minister A K Antony, in New Delhi today.
The Winter Session is generally a month-long affair but this time it had been curtailed in view of Assembly elections in Madhya Pradesh, Chhattisgarh, Rajasthan, Delhi and Mizoram.
Polling in these states will end on December 4 and counting of votes is scheduled to take place on December 8.
