New Delhi: Veteran Congress leader N D Tiwari will give his sample for DNA testing today to ascertain a 31-year-old man's claim that he is ND Tiwari's biological son.
Rohit Shekhar claims that Tiwari had a relationship with his mother, Ujjwala Sharma, and that he is their child.
The congress leader has tried several legal options to avoid the tests. 85-year-old Tiwari, who held several top portfolios with the Union Cabinet and who had quit as Andhra Pradesh Governor in December 2009 over allegations of his involvement in a sex scandal, was ordered by the high court's joint registrar to come to the high court's dispensary to give his blood sample.
Tiwari has been fighting the paternity case vehemently, describing it as an attempt to malign him. He has argued that if Shekhar wanted to prove Tiwari as his biological father, he should have filed his case when he turned 18.
