Bomb Disposal Squads At Pathankot Train Station

An abandoned bag at the Pathankot railway station triggered security concerns

Pathankot: The train station at Pathankot near the Punjab border with Pakistan is being evacuated after an abandoned bag triggered security concerns. Two bomb disposal squads were summoned and the bag was opened to reveal a bundle of army uniforms.

Earlier this month, the Air Force base at Pathankot was attacked by Pakistani terrorists, wearing fatigues; seven military personnel were martyred. The operation to secure the base stretched into 80 hours.

A huge alert has been declared for Republic Day with security agencies warning of a "very real" ISIS threat. 14 suspected ISIS affiliates and sympathisers have been arrested from different parts of the country.

French President Francois Hollande was the guest of honour at today's Republic Day parade in Delhi.

ISIS claimed responsibility for the devastating attacks in November in Paris in which 130 people were killed.
