I was pained when they said the debate was choreographed and it was murder of democracy
There were as many as 187 amendments moved by members, many of these were contradictory; Govt needed time to consider these.
Amendments were a mesh of confusing ideas
There can never be a situation where the amendment can be forced
The Bill is not in cold storage and will be taken up in the Budget Session
The House had to adjourn sine die at 12 and the Opposition is aware of that.
A new bill incorporating all amendments was placed before the House. On Dec 28, we approached BJP to start discussion in Rajya Sabha the same day. They declined and said they will start discussion on Dec 29.
