New Delhi:
Home Minister P Chidambaram will be on a two-day visit to Jammu and Kashmir from Thursday to review the security situation.
Chidambaram will meet Governor N N Vohra, Chief Minister Omar Abdullah and other state ministers.
This is Chidambaram's first major visit since he took over as Home Minister in the UPA's second innings.
The visit is significant after days of protests over the Shopian deaths.
The police on Wednesday registered a murder case in connection with the death of two women, whose bodies were fished out of a stream in Shopian on May 30.
