Jammu: Trashing reports of rift between the BJP and the PDP in Jammu and Kashmir, Deputy Chief Minister Nirmal Singh today said the ruling alliance will complete its full tenure of six years.

Mr Singh "made it clear that the PDP-BJP alliance, which is working with seriousness and responsibility, would successfully last for the full term."

The minister's statement has come against the backdrop of row surrounding ban on sale of beef in the state. While political parties in the Kashmir region are against the ban, the BJP is favouring it.

"Although it is a stupendous task to bring the existing system back on track but with our firm determination and vision we will gift the people an accountable and transparent dispensation which they deserve," Mr Singh said.

The BJP leader was speaking during a function organized by civil society members against the backdrop of Eid, Navratras and Diwali festivals.

Mr Singh said that Jammu is popularly known as the abode of peace where everyone is received with love and affection as hospitality is the basic tenet of our state which is blessed with unique composite culture and abundant scenic splendour.

"The government is envisaging a number of ambitious projects to tap the same to the fullest," the minister said.
