Jammu:
The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) men were out on the streets moments after a rather unusual way of protesting against recent civilian killings in the Valley. PDP president Mehbooba Mufti and her party legislators locked the gates of the Civil Secretariat, the seat of the government. Omar had left the office minutes before this, but many ministers and officers were locked in for about an hour
"We have come here and locked secretariat to tell the people in this secretariat to feel what it means to put common people in jail," said PDP chief Mehbooba Mufti.
Mehbooba Mufti even created a stir with her open support for separatists collecting relief for people affected by the strikes and restrictions in the past two months.
"I am asking my party men to join people and help them in relief efforts. And we will see how this government will prevent the relief from reaching it to needy,'' said the PDP chief.
In its effort to target the government, the opposition PDP is also fighting a battle for its own relevance. While the party has taken the extreme step, the question is will the government take any legal action against Mehbooba Mufti for locking highest seat of the government.
