Former politician and local strongman Shahabuddin returned to Siwan after 11 years in jail.
Siwan:
The return of former politician and murder accused Mohammad Shahabuddin to Bihar's Siwan has struck fear in the hearts of the family of those he allegedly killed.
Chandrakeshwar Prasad, whose three sons were allegedly killed on the behest of Shahabuddin, said that terror had returned to Siwan.
"People are now living in terror. Where will we go leaving Siwan? Somehow we are eking out a living. We don't have any support. If God wants we will live, otherwise we will die. Shahabuddin can attack me as well. We never thought that he will kill my third son also, after killing my other two sons," he said.
Mr Prasad's two sons, Satish and Girish, were killed in an alleged acid attack in 2004. Their brother Rajiv, who was an eyewitness in the case, was killed in 2014 just days before he was set to depose against Shahabuddin.
Last year a court in Siwan had sentenced him to life imprisonment for murdering Rajiv.
Even while he remained inside jail for 11 years, Shahabuddin's clout in Siwan has not diminished.
"People in Siwan have never supported us in our fight against Shahabuddin. When I had come to Siwan, the administration asked us to leave Siwan. I met Lalu (Lalu Prasad Yadav), my brother asked him to save me. He said he won't do anything as it was a matter of Siwan. I received threat calls after that meeting," Mr Prasad said.
His wife Kalavati Devi said she too was disappointed that Shahabuddin was given bail.
"We are extremely scared, we didn't get any justice. He was released on bail. Don't know what he will do with us," she added.
A BJP delegation met the Bihar governor earlier today to protest grant of bail to Shahabuddin.
