Mumbai:
More than a hundred high-value paintings have been discovered during income tax raids at the Mumbai offices of a company named Global Telesystems (GTL).
The raids took place at 45 offices of the company, as well as the residence of its Chairman and Managing Director, Manoj Tirodkar.
Paintings found include works by Picasso, Salvador Dali and Rabindranath Tagore.
The raids were prompted by reports of suspected tax evasion.
GTL is part of the Global group - a major corporate in the business of manufacturing, installing and maintaining cell phone towers.
Income tax authorities are verifying the authenticity and worth of the paintings.
