After the government asked the Jet Airways management to talk to the pilots who have refused to report for duty, the airline's chief Naresh Goyal has said that what the pilots have done is illegal.
Speaking to NDTV, he said, "Pilots are holding the airline and country to ransom. They had told us on Monday that they will not go on strike."
He also said that the two sacked pilots were misleading the others.
"The management had told pilots we will talk and resolve the issue, but they have to follow certain rules and regulations. The pilots were on roster, but called in sick at the last minute. We sent company doctors to pilots' houses but some of them didn't allow the doctors to enter their houses," Goyal said.
We will take action as per the company rules, he added.
