PM Modi Addresses Gram Sabhas On Panchayati Raj Day: Highlights

Jamshedpur: PM Narendra Modi is addressing a Panchayati Raj Sammelan in Jamshedpur, Jharkhand. Below are the highlights:

• Panchayat Raj Diwas was celebrated in Vigyan Bhawan in Delhi earlier, some representatives attended, the same tradition went on
• Delhi is all that is there to India, this misconception should be countered. That's why we are holding many programmes outside Delhi
• We released the soil health card in Rajasthan. We also launched our programme for gender equality in Haryana
• We launched social security schemes for the common man, from one of the most poverty-hit states West Bengal
• I am happy to launch the Panchayat Raj program - Gram Uday Se Bharat Uday - from the soil of Jharkhand
• India is in its villages
• Don't villages deserve the same development we see in cities? Electricity, roads, water - villages should have the best of these facilities
• Those serving in village should think: I have the opportunity to do something transformative during my tenure and serve my village
• So many women are serving in Panchayats. They can show tremendous leadership in matters affecting the villages
