Thrissur, Kerala:

Prime Minister Narendra Modi addressed a public rally Kerala's Thrissur.

Here are the highlights of his speech:

  • First, I want to apologise to Kerala that I have been late in coming. But it won't happen now on, let me assure you.
  • I have come here to thank all our party leaders and Karyakartas.
  • Saints from Kerala removed social untouchability but in the same Kerala we saw political untouchability by some.
  • So many of our Karyakartas have been killed here and that too for political reasons. Have you seen such a thing in any other part of India.
  • I pay my tributes to all those Karyakartas who have lost their lives.
  • I always appreciate the patience of the Kerala BJP. There is so much to learn from the Karyakartas here.
  • In Kerala the chances of winning an election were very less, there was little chance of any post for any BJP Karyakarta.
  • Chances of victory were less, government was not in sight but BJP Karyakarta has given so much, generations have worked for the party
  • During my UAE visit I met Indian workers working there and I interacted with the people from Kerala
  • Women from Kerala worked abroad as nurses. Terrorists captured them and we all were concerned. We were able to get them back home safely
  • We were able to bring back so many Indian citizens from war-torn Yemen and many of them are from Kerala
  • India is a youthful nation. We want our youth to get opportunities and we want them to get opportunities in India
  • Our Make in India initiative is all about bringing investment to India and creating opportunities for our people
  • The youth of Kerala is very intelligent and talented. Their innovative zeal can enrich the nation
  • Our youth must be able to receive loans from the bank so that they can study. This was never a priority but we have given it importance
  • We are putting immense resources for the optical fibre network as a part of the Digital India Initiative
  • We want the lives of our fishermen to be transformed. Fishing industry must become modern and exports must increase
  • When we talk about Make in India we also talk about the rubber industry and improving the lives of those associated with it
