PM Modi Addresses RTI Convention: Highlights

New Delhi: PM Narendra Modi is speaking at the inauguration of 10th Annual Convention-2015 of the Central Information Commission.

Here are the highlights of his speech:

• The Right to Information is not only about the right to know but also the right to question. This will increase faith in democracy
• When things go online, transparency increases automatically. Trust also increases
• More openness in government will help citizens. In this day and age, there is no need for secrecy
• The aim of RTI must be to bring about a positive change in governance
• There needs to be trust between the government and people, that is what transparency is for
• Today I feel there is a limitation to RTI, we know of the process but not the end product
