PM Modi at Google Headquarters: Highlights

New Delhi: Prime Minister Narendra Modi reached the Google campus in Silicon Valley and met CEO Sundar Pichai following a townhall at Facebook headquarters. PM Modi viewed four critical projects during his visit. After the digital tour, PM Modi interacted with the Google employees and addressed 'Code 4 India Hackathon'

Following are the highlights of the session:
  • We should encourage Hackathon culture in India.
  • You are sacrificing your night's sleep for a noble cause.
  • I am grateful to Sundar and Google.
  • Today people spend most time on technology.
  • Sometimes I joke that birth of technology happened to save time. But the exact opposite happened.
  • When a child asks for milk, his mother says wait I have to send a WhatsApp message.
  • I can see the benefits of the technology through the NaMo app.
  • But this is just the beginning, I am sure we will find our footing
  •  Technology has become a huge power for democracy.
  • I am grateful to all of you.
  • I hope what you are doing will help the poor in India.
  • Sundar Pichai: We are so excited to bring connectivity to India in more places. Our "Access & Energy Team" has partnered with Indian Railways to bring connectivity to India in railway stations.
  • Sundar Pichai: We are starting with 100 of the busiest railway stations, we hope to expand it to 400 stations by the end of next year.
