Union Minister Kiren Rijiju took a holy dip in Prayagraj's Mahakumbh Triveni Sangam on Wednesday, and urged not to do 'politics' on historic moment. Posting a video on X, he wrote "Maha Kumbh comes once in 144 years i.e. once in many generations. No one should do politics on such a historic religious moment. I am fortunate that I took a dip in the holy Triveni Sangam. Please everyone follow the guidelines as the total number of people coming to Maha Kumbh is unprecedented and unimaginable. #Mahakumbh"

 The sacred Triveni Sangam in Prayagraj is witnessing an unceasing wave of devotion as Mahakumbh progresses with an overwhelming influx of pilgrims, saints, and Kalpvasis.

By 8 am on Wednesday, over 3.748 million devotees had taken a holy dip in the confluence of the Ganga, Yamuna, and the mystical Saraswati, increasing the deep spiritual fervor surrounding the grand religious congregation. This includes more than 10 lakh Kalpvasis and 2.748 million pilgrims who arrived in the early hours to seek divine blessings.

According to Uttar Pradesh government data, the total number of bathers since the commencement of Mahakumbh has exceeded 382 million as of February 4, underling the event's unparalleled spiritual and cultural significance.

PM Modi on Wednesday took a boat ride to Sangam in Prayagraj to attend the Maha Kumbh Mela. He is accompanied by Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath.

PM Modi, who arrived in Prayagraj around 10 am, is travelling to Arail Ghat from where he will take a boat to the Maha Kumbh. PM Modi's visit will be brief, lasting about an hour, during which he will perform the ritual bath and offer prayers.

He is expected to return to Arail Ghat by boat at 11:45 am and return to Prayagraj Airport. PM Modi will depart the city at 12:30 am by an Indian Air Force aircraft.

Golu, a young boy from Delhi, who has taken on the role of Nanha Gandhi, explained his purpose: "I stand here to encourage people visiting Prayagraj to clean the environment and the Ganga river. I hope my message inspires them to keep the surroundings clean."

Deepu Panda, who will help PM Modi conduct the 'puja' at Maha Kumbh told NDTV that when the PM will take a dip at Sangam, he and his team will chant mantras. Mr Panda also said he will be requesting PM Modi to pay tribute to those who died in the stampede last week.

After Coldplay's final concert in the country, frontman Chris Martin and his girlfriend, actress Dakota Johnson, headed to the Maha Kumbh Mela 2025 in Prayagraj. A video of the couple taking a dip in the holy waters surfaced online in which the two were seen joining devotees at Triveni Sangam during the Maha Kumbh Mela 2025.

Chris kept it casual in black shorts, while Dakota embraced the cultural vibe in a traditional ensemble. At one point, the singer was seen folding his hands in prayer.

Bhutan King Jigme Khesar Namgyel Wangchuck visited the Maha Kumbh on Tuesday and took a dip at the Triveni Sangam. Accompanied by Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath, the king performed rituals like offering 'arghya' to the Sun before taking the dip.

King Wangchuk, who was wearing the traditional dress of Bhutan when he landed at the airport, changed into a long saffron-colour kurta and pyjama when he entered the waters.

The Uttar Pradesh government on Monday said it is taking steps to facilitate Sangam Snan for 2,000 senior citizens by the conclusion of the Maha Kumbh.

The Social Welfare Department's pandal, set up along the banks of the Sangam, in partnership with the National Medicos Organization and Artificial Limbs Manufacturing Corporation of India (ALIMCO) has been providing crucial support to underprivileged groups, the government in a statement said.

"One of the major programs under this initiative is Shravan Kumbh, which serves thousands by offering exams and assistance to those with hearing impairments," it said.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi will visit the Maha Kumbh Mela in Prayagraj today and take a holy dip at the Sangam around 11 am, his office said.

"In line with his commitment to promote and preserve India's spiritual and cultural heritage, the Prime Minister has consistently taken proactive steps to enhance infrastructure and facilities at pilgrimage sites," the statement by the Prime Minister's Office (PMO) read.
